Charitable grants program kicking off early to support COVID-19 pandemic efforts

Grants Program

The resources of our community charitable organizations are being tested now more than ever as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing the immediate need to support these organizations, Baltimore Life has made the decision to open its 22nd charitable grants program early this year. Our annual grants program has helped many organizations in communities where our employees live and work, including Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.

To be eligible for a $500 grant, your organization must meet IRS eligibility requirements under IRC Section 501(c)(3)1. Acceptable organizations also include libraries, senior centers, homeless shelters, or other organizations under the direction of governmental agencies. Projects and programs that help distressed families, enhance public safety and the community, and combat community deterioration receive special consideration. Religious organizations are not eligible, except when a religious organization houses a nondenominational charity such as a soup kitchen or homeless shelter.
