Mike Smith Promoted to Vice President, Information Services

OWINGS MILLS, Md.—The Baltimore Life Insurance Co. announced the promotion of Mike Smith to Vice President, Information Services. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of the company’s core information technology capabilities, including infrastructure, applications development, platform management including business analysis and testing.

“Since joining us, Mike has been instrumental in the development and upgrading of our core systems. He is a creative problem solver, and we look forward to the impact he will have as a leader in our Information Services area,” said President and CEO David Ficca.

Smith started his Baltimore Life career as a contractor in 2017 with increasing responsibility since joining the company. Prior to Baltimore Life, he provided information technology services for a fiber optics manufacturing enterprise and an environmental engineering firm. Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, and a master’s degree in Advanced Computer Information Systems.
