Baltimore Life Appoints Two Vice Presidents

BALTIMORE, MD, MARCH 12, 2013—Baltimore Life’s Board of Directors recently approved two vice president-level promotions.
Damian A. Salvi, CLU, LLIF, LUTCF, has been elected by the Board of Directors as Senior Vice President and Chief Distribution Officer. A resident of York, Pa., Salvi joined Baltimore Life in October 1983 as an agent and has built a distinguished career in personal production and sales management. He was elected Vice President of the Career Agency Sales Group in 2001. In July 2011, he assumed additional executive responsibilities for leadership of the Independent Sales Division.
Steven E. Bortner, FLMI, ACS, has been elected by the Board of Directors as Vice President, Information Services. Bortner, a resident of Shrewsbury, Pa., joined the company in 1985 as a programmer analyst. As he advanced in his knowledge of Baltimore Life systems, he assumed senior level information technology positions handling a variety of assignments in support of user applications. He was appointed Assistant Vice President in 1997, and since then has had a leadership role in the oversight of systems development and in some of the company’s most strategically critical corporate projects.
