Now, in its eleventh year, Baltimore Life’s Community Grants Program has helped many organizations such as yours in communities where our employees live and work, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, D.C., Ohio, New Jersey and West Virginia. The ability to award $500 to organizations that support services such as family counseling and the upkeep of playgrounds has proven to be worthwhile in the continuance of humanitarian deeds.
To be eligible for the grant, your organization must meet the IRS’s eligibility requirements under IRC Section 501(c)(3)1. Acceptable organizations also include libraries, senior centers, homeless shelters, or other organizations under the direction of governmental agencies.
Special consideration is given to projects and programs that assist distressed families, enhance public safety and the community, and combat community deterioration.
Religious organizations are not eligible, except in instances where a religious organization houses a nondenominational charity such as a soup kitchen or homeless shelter.
