Baltimore Life Employees Help Rebuild Sandtown-Winchester Neighborhood Home

For Immediate Release

BALTIMORE, MD, SEPTEMBER 8, 2008—The Baltimore Life Companies recently teamed up with Sandtown Habitat for Humanity to rebuild a vacant home to foster homeownership and improve the health of the community.

On September 4, a crew from Baltimore Life, including home office employees from the Baltimore area and agents from the company’s Baltimore agency, began framing walls for what will be a new home for a low-income family in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood in West Baltimore. Kevin Mills, the crew’s foreman and a 13-year veteran with Habitat for Humanity, said, “I love what I do and I enjoy meeting new people. It can be hard work, but we have fun together.”

Malay “Subs” Subramaniam, agency manager of the company’s Baltimore office, added, “Habitat for Humanity is doing amazing work. We plan to get more people involved in supporting them.”

Each year, Baltimore Life joins the United Way to participate in the “Day of Caring” in the Baltimore area. This year, the company is participating in United Way activities in new areas in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
