Baltimore Life Appoints New Agency Team Manager

For Immediate Release

OWINGS MILLS, MD, JANUARY 20, 2005—Derek VanGemeren has been appointed the Agency Team Manager of The Baltimore Life Insurance Company's Baltimore Agency, G. Edward Hughes, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer announced today.

VanGemeren comes to Baltimore Life from Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society, where he was Area Manager. His eight years in the life insurance industry include both personal production and agency building.

He is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Business Administration. VanGemeren resides in Laurel, Maryland, with his wife and three children. He is active in the community, including volunteer work with the Howard County Public School System.
