Greensburg Resident Earns Baltimore Life's 2006 Blair Community Service Award

OWINGS MILLS, MD, FEBRUARY 28, 2006—The Baltimore Life Companies announced today that Janice Merriman, an agent in the company's Southwest Pennsylvania office, has been named the 2006 recipient of the company's prestigious Joseph E. Blair Community Service Award.

"The Blair Award is the highest honor Baltimore Life gives for community involvement, and Jan Merriman is certainly a deserving winner," said Damian A. Salvi, vice president of Baltimore Life's Team Advantage sales division. "Like Baltimore Life's Chairman Emeritus Joe Blair, Jan is incredibly active in both community and insurance industry affairs."

Merriman, who has worked in the life insurance industry for 20 years, joined Baltimore Life in 2005. She is a member of the Greensburg Engine Company #8 Lady's Auxiliary, Business and Professional Womens/USA, and the YWCA (Young Women's Christian Association). She is also active at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greensburg. Additionally, she is the Immediate Past President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) of Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands region and is very involved with the Pennsylvania Chapter of the organization.
