Baltimore Life Names New General Counsel

For Immediate Release

OWINGS MILLS, MD, SEPTEMBER 13, 2005—L. John Pearson, Chairman, President, and CEO of The Baltimore Life Insurance Company has announced that Harold B. Rojas has joined the company as Vice President-General Counsel/Corporate Secretary.

In his role at Baltimore Life, Rojas will be responsible for the legal and compliance functions. Additionally, he will advise company leadership in the area of corporate governance and the constantly evolving regulatory environment.

Rojas has 10 years insurance industry experience, and comes to Baltimore Life from Old Mutual US Life. He has held positions at Conseco, Jackson National, and Columbian Mutual. Rojas is a graduate of The State University of New York at Binghamton. He received his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law.

A New York native, Rojas and his wife, Sarah, live in Columbia, MD, with their daughters Olivia and Gabrielle.
